Frequently asked questions

General

Do you supply wholesalers in Latin America?

Yes. We work with hardware and furniture-hardware distributors, cabinet shops and mirror makers in Mexico, Central and South America. Standard models start from 2 pcs, ship in 7-15 days, and we quote FOB, CIF or DDP. Our trade team works in English, Spanish and Portuguese.

What does Shinechip make?

Shinechip (Shenzhen Xingyong Microelectronics Technology Co., Ltd., founded 2017) makes lighting controls for LED mirrors and furniture: mirror touch switches, mirror switches with built-in power supply, mirror defogger pads, cabinet sensor switches, LED strip dimmers, stair controllers, LED strips and power supplies.

Can you customise a switch for my mirror or cabinet?

Yes. OEM and ODM orders are accepted. Typical requests are your logo on the switch or packaging, plug type (EU, US, UK, AU), cable length, button icons, single-colour or 3-colour (CCT) function and dimming memory. Send your drawing or the switch you use today and we confirm what can be changed for that model.

What is the minimum order quantity?

Most standard models start from 2 pcs, so wholesalers and workshops can order small mixed batches. Items sold by the reel or in bulk packs have their own MOQ on the product page. Custom versions usually need a larger first order, which we quote per project.

How long does production take?

Standard models ship in 7-15 days. Larger or customised orders can take longer; we confirm the date in the quotation.

Do you have CE or other certificates?

Please ask for the certificate of the exact model you need. We send copies with the quotation so you can check the issuing body and number. We do not show certificate logos on this site until each one is listed with its number.

How do I choose between a touch switch and a hand-wave sensor?

Use a touch switch where people will tap the mirror or panel on purpose, such as a bathroom mirror. Use an IR hand-wave sensor where hands may be wet or dirty, such as kitchen cabinets. Use a door sensor where the light should follow the door, such as wardrobes.

Mirror Switches with Built-in Power Supply

Why choose a switch with a built-in power supply?

It replaces two parts with one, so the mirror needs less space behind the glass and fewer connections.

Which plug types are available?

The listings show EU plugs as standard with US plugs on request. Tell us your market and we confirm the plug for the model.

How much LED strip can it drive?

Divide the rated output power by your strip's watts per metre. Each product page lists the output rating.

Mirror Touch Switches

Do mirror touch switches need a hole in the glass?

No. Capacitive mirror switches stick to the back of the glass and sense a finger through it. Each model lists the glass thickness it works with.

What is the difference between single-colour and 3-colour (CCT) switches?

Single-colour switches turn one LED strip on, off and dim it. 3-colour switches drive a tunable-white strip and step between warm, neutral and cool white.

Can you add a defogger or clock function?

Yes. Several models switch a defogger pad or show time and temperature. See the Mirror Defogger Pads range or tell us the functions you need.

Mirror Defogger Pads

How does a mirror defogger pad work?

It is a thin heating film bonded to the back of the mirror. Warming the glass a few degrees above the room stops steam condensing on it.

Can pads be made to custom sizes?

Yes. Send the mirror size and the area to keep clear and we propose a pad size.

Which switch turns the pad on?

Use a mirror touch switch with a defogger output, or a relay wired to the mirror light. The defogger switch models are listed on this page.

Cabinet Sensor Switches

Which cabinet switch should I use?

Use a hidden touch switch for a clean panel, an IR hand-wave switch where hands may be wet, and a door sensor switch where the light should follow the door.

Do hidden touch switches work through metal?

No. They sense through wood, MDF, stone and other non-metal panels. For metal furniture use an IR or door sensor switch.

Can one switch control several strips?

Yes, as long as the total load stays within the switch's rating. Some models also support master control of several cabinets.

LED Strip Dimmers & Controllers

What is the difference between RF and IR remotes?

RF remotes work through doors and around corners. IR remotes need a clear line of sight to the receiver.

Can I dim a strip without a remote?

Yes. Inline knob, push and touch dimmers control the strip directly.

Which controller fits a CCT strip?

Use a 2-channel CCT controller, which adjusts warm and cool white separately.

Wall Switches

What comes with the wall switch?

The wall switch and its receiver. See the product page for the 1, 2 and 3-key versions.

Which version do I need?

Choose the key count by the number of lights you want to control separately, and confirm the set-up with us before ordering.

Stair Controllers

How does a stair lighting controller work?

Sensors at the top and bottom detect a person and the controller lights the steps one after another, then turns them off in the same order.

Can it work only at night?

Some models include a light sensor so the stair lights only run when it is dark. Check the product page.

Which LED strip should I use for steps?

A low-voltage 12V or 24V strip cut to the width of each step, one channel per step.

LED Strip Lights

COB or SMD LED strip?

COB strips show a smooth, dot-free line, which suits visible mirror and cabinet edges. SMD strips cost less and suit hidden coves.

12V or 24V?

12V is common in mirrors and short cabinet runs. 24V carries the same power at half the current, so longer runs stay even.

Can the strips be cut?

Yes, at the marked cut points. Tell us your lengths and we can supply cut and wired pieces for OEM orders.

LED Power Supplies

How big a power supply do I need?

Add up the watts of all strips on the supply and choose a supply rated comfortably above that total.

Can one supply run several switches?

Yes, if the total load stays within the supply rating and each switch's own rating.

Are there supplies with a built-in switch or relay?

Yes. Some models in this range include a relay or touch control; see each product page.

LED Profiles

Why use an aluminium profile?

It holds the strip straight, spreads heat and, with a diffuser, gives an even line of light.

Can profiles be cut to length?

Yes. Tell us the lengths you need for OEM orders.

Do you supply connectors and cords?

Yes. Strip connectors, power cords and mirror hooks are on our Accessories page.

Accessories

Can accessories be ordered in small quantities?

Yes. The connector and power cord are listed from 2 pcs and the mirror hooks from 50 pcs; see each product page.

Can accessories be packed with switches or strips?

Tell us which parts to pack together and we confirm what can be supplied.
